SAVAGE 3 Day 'XL Challenge'
Sold out
When: Friday, May 31 - Sunday, June 2, 2024
Cost: $600 per person
*Training group size is limited!*
Event Description
Imagine yourself dropped into an unfamiliar environment - can you survive by accomplishing the core basics to set yourself up for survival success? If you've ever wondered what it would feel like to be inserted into a remote challenge and have to survive, that time is now!
Get a taste of what it takes and how to live like a SAVAGE as you have witnessed through the years watching our adventures. Learn to master various techniques and survival knowledge from the SAVAGE himself, Matt Wright and his wild Savage of a wife, Brooke Wright. These 3 days will be an intense survival challenge introducing a unique experience similar to a Naked and Afraid XL challenge (clothed and possibly still afraid).
We will be there every step of the way to teach you the fundamentals, all while in a small group setting style as you would on a NAA XL challenge. You will be tested to focus on building a solid shelter, various fire making methods and techniques, learn water purification safety, plant/edible identification, navigation, archery, primitive hunting, the atlatl, field processing/cooking wild game and primitive fishing. You will have to hunt, forge and fish for your food and there is no better time to unleash your savage side.
This training breaks down all the core essentials to tackle an authentic survival experience. You'll be guaranteed to leave this challenge feeling more confident and comfortable in any wilderness setting.
After 3 days you will emerge with the ultimate appreciation of your newly acquired skills and just what it takes to try to thrive in the wild.
Details:
Duration: 3 days/2 nights (arrive Friday morning by 9am for "insertion" and "extraction" Sunday departure around 4pm)
Where: Our Private Property in Southwest Arcadia, FL
(20 min from Punta Gorda airport, 1 hour from Fort Myers, 1.15 Sarasota, 1.40 Tampa airports)
- Friction Fire Friday & Shelter Build Off - This training kicks off in the morning and dives into a fun competition with multiple winners to gain assets for the remainder of the weekend. No need to bring a tent, you will build the shelter (rain cover and bug nets will be available). With hands-on instruction, you will test yourself in a friendly competition to become a fire master.
- SAVAGE Saturday - Unleash the beast! After your first night in the "jungle" you will now learn what it takes to thrive. This day's focus is on food, find it and hunt it. Learn archery, the primitive atlatl as well as tracking and animal field processing. As you've seen on the many years of our own survival, we don't like to go hungry. So this day is dedicated to mastering how to feed your hunger. You will also fish and trap in the creek. If all works out, you'll have a Savage feast by sunset. Finish off the evening around a creek side camp fire with SAVAGE storytelling and if you're successful in sourcing food, a meal to be proud of!
- Step Up Sunday - It's one thing to just survive, it's another to elevate your survival to thrive. At this point you will have learned and demonstrated the essential skills, but a true Savage does more than the bare minimum. This day is using those skills and your creativity to turn your survival location into a true work of art. Maybe you want to build a mailbox or even a bridge, each survivalist is encouraged to go beyond just surviving and showcase what you can create pushing yourself to the next level. Navigate your way to extraction and enjoy a home cooked Savage meal in honor of your accomplishments and a coveted gift you will be proud of. Camp break down and check-out around 4pm.
Included in the Experience:
A hydration station will be available. Food is where you find it! Working together, teams will have to build one solid shelter, start and maintain a fire, forage and discover potential food sources. A SAVAGE rarely misses an opportunity to score a meal and your mission is to secure a food source for you and your team.
